Why Me

As a massage therapist who is also a qualified and experienced midwife & health visitor, I have spent the last 20 years working with new mums. This means that I have a deep understanding of the transition to motherhood, and all that means, in both a physical and emotional sense. Each treatment is carefully tailored to your individual needs and recovery, ensuring you feel comfortable, supported and at ease throughout.

You are welcome to bring your baby with you* to The Retreat in Brundall, it’s a peaceful, nurturing space designed to help you slow down and feel cared for, babies who visit often pick up on the calm vibes and have a little nap. But if baby needs you, that’s absolutely fine, treatments can be adapted so you can hold or feed them, allowing you both to benefit from a sense of calm and closeness.

Alternatively, I can bring the treatment to you with my mobile service (up to 20 minutes travel time), which can be especially helpful in the early weeks when leaving the house with a newborn in tow can be a challenge.

*Please note that once babies are mobile, it is recommended that they are cared for by someone else during your treatment.

FAQ

Some massage therapists recommend waiting until after your 6–8 week postnatal check, but with In Touch, you can come for a massage whenever you feel ready, even in those first few days after birth. With my background as a midwife, I’ll carefully tailor your treatment to your body and your recovery, so you feel fully supported, safe and comfortable throughout.

Postnatal massage is all about adaptation – adapting to your body’s recovery, your baby’s needs, and what suits you best on the day. Treatments are typically slow, nurturing and restorative, designed to support both your physical healing and emotional wellbeing. You can read more about how postnatal massage is different to regular massage on the blog page.

Emerging research suggests that Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage has a role in reducing discomfort from pre and postpartum swelling, and also support the body’s inflammatory response during postnatal healing.
