The due time treatment is a lovely way to celebrate coming towards the end of your pregnancy and is sure to give you a lovely memory of your last few hours or days of your pregnancy. This treatment aims to prepare the body and mind for imminent birth by calming the nervous system and easing tension held in the body. You will have a wonderfully relaxing 75 or 90 minute full body pregnancy massage, which can reduce stress hormones and increase the production of oxytocin, an essential hormone for labour and birth. The massage will focus on easing any restriction or tension held around the lower back, sacrum and pelvis, which can help to increase your range of motion and means that you and baby may find it easier to get into optimal positions for birth. Acupressure points associated with promoting labour will be stimulated during the massage.

After a consultation, an individualised aromatherapy oil blend will be made specifically for you, which will be used for the massage. Afterwards a bottle of your own In Touch ‘due time’ aromatherapy blend will be provided for your continued use at home. I will also teach you some acupressure points and give you some tips for massage in labour.

While this treatment is available at The Retreat, and I am happy to see you there if that is your preference, being at home for this treatment has so many benefits. Being at home, surrounded by your baby items, your birth playlist on in the background, your home comforts nearby and no need to go anywhere afterwards really helps to get the oxytocin flowing.

Please allow an extra 30 minutes on top of your treatment time to allow for my set up and pack away as well as time for discussion, making up your aromatherapy blend and teaching you the acupressure points.

The due time treatment is geared towards those who are ready and waiting to meet their baby, who are close to or past their due date, or who may have been offered a medical induction of labour. If you are full term but would prefer a pregnancy massage without the aromatherapy and acupressure, that’s no problem, go ahead and book an In Touch pregnancy massage, they can be completed at any time during the second and third trimesters.
